Ok, so it's probably not a bug, But I can't for the life of me start the engine. And it's probably the easiest aircraft to start!! I think I've managed to fire up the engine probably twice from cold in 2.0 and never in 1.5xxx. Quite frustrating and not sure where I'm going wrong. Watched loads of YouTube vids along with the reading the manual and nothing happens. Any advice is much appreciated.

Hum!

could you answer to some request, please?

1:which is the airport from where you make your attempt?

2:is it an automatic start or manual?

3:did you already set an airport from mission editor?

see you next:)

Seems any mission from any airport including Baltic Dragons training missions

Always a manual start

I tried Batumi from a mission I made tonight also without luck.

Thanks

Check if the fuel cutoff switch is down. The default state of it changed a few months ago. So old tutorials don't teach it, and it might have worked a while longer on 2.0 because a lack of updates there.

Second thing to check, confirm your throttle is all the way down before starting. If not, press engine shutdown to reset it (small red button on the right side of your throttle).

Quick Instructions:

1. Set parking brake on

2. Check that the Throttle is all the way back (stop/start position).

3. Switch BATT ON (better yet use ground power)

4. Switch all Fuel Boost Pumps G and D to M.

5. Switch the COUPE FEU (fuel cutoff) switch to the right.

6. Check that the VENT switch is in either G or D.

7. Open the engine start switch cover. This will also start the engine start fuel pump.

8. Press the engine start switch.

9. When the RPM needle reaches 11% advance the throttle to the ground idle position. (Advance and retard. It will stop at the ground idle position).

10. When the RPM needle reaches about 40% all warning/caution lights. should go off. Only one remaining should be parking brake and canopy. (Disconnect ground power at this time).

11. Follow through with the rest of your take-off procedures.

what's happening????

https://youtu.be/FVE2NjfRRm4

There is weird stuff happening across multiple modules (Viggen, WW2 birds, F-5,...) after the latest 2.0 update. This might be related.

Not everybody seems to be affected though.

Hi mr_mojo97,

I had this exact same issue and did find a trick on YT.

Before pushing the engine start switch, you need to push the 'engine shutdown button' (id.35, pages 18 & 21 in the manual).

It is a small red push-button without any label, at the right of the throttle on the cosole.

Give it a try

Cheers

Thanks for the responses everyone.

That's the one Equinox!!! I had actually read this and totally forgot to try it!! Thanks for reminding me though. Odd thing is though that I have actually started the engine before without this. Anyways I can have a happier weekend now. Thanks again

I can go and enjoy the gin festival in Glasgowl in peace

That's it.

I have it programmed into my WH Throttle when I place it past the rear detente position.

I get upset when I jump into the pit and go to start and it fails, I end up exiting, then come back in and it works??? I will from now on, check the shut down switch first and see if that works.
