creskita Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 I'm flying the F15C in Flaming Cliffs, using a TrackIr. When I start the flight, I set my view within the cockpit as per the first image, giving me sight of most of the cockpit instruments. The moment I use the zoom function to check anything (I use the "rudder" on a Thrustmaster TWCS), it then defaults to a zoomed in version of the cockpit, which I can't change unless I use the mouse to scroll out. (2nd Image.) If I use the zoom again, the same happens and I keep having to correct it using the mouse. Is there any way to keep the view of the cockpit as I want it, regardless of whether I have used the zoom function or not? Thanks.
razo+r Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 ralt+num0 saves your view, but not your FOV though iirc
creskita Posted March 4, 2017 Author Posted March 4, 2017 Is there any way to keep it zoomed out? When I look at vids on youtube, everyone seems to have a more zoomed out view than I do.
MadDog-IC Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 (edited) Is there any way to keep it zoomed out? When I look at vids on youtube, everyone seems to have a more zoomed out view than I do. You have to play around a bit with Cockpit view controls (this is from memory): First disable trackir before getting in game or pause it whilst in plane and center the view. Press Lwin + Numpad 5 to tell dcs you want to adjust snapview 5 Use Numpad / and * to adjust your zoom level in, out. Use Numpad arrow keys to position up, down, left, right. Use R-Shift + R-Ctrl + Numpad / and R-Shift + R-Ctrl + Numpad * to adjust forward, back eye position. Use R-shift + R-Ctrl + Numpad arrow keys to move eye point up, down, left, right. When you have it the way you want it, use R-Alt + Numpad 0 to save it. [*]Press Lwin + Numpad 0 to adjust snapview 0 Use R-alt + Numpad 0 to save. [*]Now shutdown DCS and enable trackir again and play as normal, and your default cockpit zoom level should be good and zooming in and out will be in proportion of the center zoom. [*]Also can't use any axis that is self centering for zooming in or out and expect it to stay zoomed. Regards, Ian. Deezle Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 If you use an axis for your zoom control you can simply tune it something like this. Intel 9600K@4.7GHz, Asus Z390, 64GB DDR4, EVGA RTX 3070, Custom Water Cooling, 970 EVO 1TB NVMe 34" UltraWide 3440x1440 Curved Monitor, 21" Touch Screen MFD monitor, TIR5 My Pit Build, Moza AB9 FFB w/WH Grip, TMWH Throttle, MFG Crosswinds W/Combat Pedals/Damper, Custom A-10C panels, Custom Helo Collective, SimShaker with Transducer
