Dave317 Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 I've always wanted a zoom view switch on my warthog throttle but all the buttons are used up. I would like to add an extra on/off/on switch onto the main throttle but don't know how to wire this to a usb and get it to work. What sort of controller would I need?
cichlidfan Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 (edited) Something like a Bodnar board or an Arduino but either would be overkill for a single button. I would figure out a way to free up one of the existing buttons. EDIT: Another option would be to get the smallest, cheapest, programmable mouse that you can find and attach it to the throttle, or your chair. Dave317 Posted March 16, 2017 Author Posted March 16, 2017 Awesome idea. I have a few mice laying about. I'll give that a go. Thanks
hansangb Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Dave, can't you just use the pinkie paddle as a modifier? You can then map more than one function. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
BSS_Sniper Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Use the grey lever on the right side of the throttle base. It's an acid and not used for anything on the A10. It works very well. AvgWhiteGuy Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Specifically what kind of throttle do you have....are you talking about an external unit like a Thrustmaster HOTUS? If so, then BSS Sniper is spot on. The grey Throttle Friction Control slider is not used and easily assigned in DCS. Certainly makes locating/identifying targets much easier.
