Hoggorm Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Hi, I was wondering if anyone have seen or made a Time on Target tutorial for the Viggen? I'm still stuck after reading the manual... Thank you.
Apache600 Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Off the top of my head .... and this is if you don't already have a time set up for the waypoint in the mission editor. check current time by going to TID - OUT and pressing LS/SKU ex: 140030 (14:00:30) back to AKT POS - OUT and select the B* that the target is at. ex: Target is at B3 (this step might be omitted, just can't remember if a bug required you to have the destination window set with the waypoint) with B3 in the destination indicator, go to TID - IN and select the time you want to be at the waypoint. ex: (14:16:00) press 141600 then B3. got back to AKT POS - OUT and then flip back to TID - OUT. It should than read a timetable deviation ... but I'm not sure if it sets it to the current mach number you're at when entering the times, or if it goes off of the pre-set economic mach number. Hoggorm Posted March 19, 2017 Author Posted March 19, 2017 Thank you, Apache, I'll try this soon. I missed the step where you go to AKT POS- OUT and select the target waypoint. What I did was just pressing the time and B3 (target). Hopefully that works. I still wonder how it works when flying low in a valley for example where there are lots of turns and where the speed is not constant.
RagnarDa Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Also, you need to switch to TAKT and input 9 and then press B3 before you set the time on target or else it will think you try to set a Mach-speed (which would be Mach 1.416 in this case). DCS AJS37 HACKERMAN There will always be bugs. If everything is a priority nothing is.
Hoggorm Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 Also, you need to switch to TAKT and input 9 and then press B3 before you set the time on target or else it will think you try to set a Mach-speed (which would be Mach 1.416 in this case). You mean I have to make B3 a Target Waypoint before setting time on target? Setting a speed of Mach .90 over a target is fairly good for a low level high drag bomb attack, but it is too fast for the entire route before the target waypoint. If I enter 090 B3 in TID - IN will that calculate a speed of M.90 for the entire route or only from B2 to M3? What will be the calculated speed on the route LS - B1 - B2?
JanTelefon Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 It is supposed to calculate the speed from the waypoint you specify to the next target waypoint, or if there is none the landing waypoint. I haven't been able to make it do so properly though. It only seems to calculate the speed between the last waypoint before the target and the target properly. I have tried following the procedure in the real manual for the Viggen, but it doesn't work as expected.
