What is the in-game difference between these two Sidewinders? Both are all aspect and have reduced-smoke rocket motor.

Is one more susceptible to flares?

9P5 has smaller AIM-9P motor.

As a target, telling maneuverability apart for those two missiles should be pretty hard. The AIM-9P5 should be quite zippy.

Like Chizh pointed out, the main difference is in the motor. The seeker is also upgraded though probably not as much as that of the M.

If you are a target, it is hard to tell the difference between these two indeed, but if you are the hunter, you can see a difference, a quite big one from my experiences

I believe that launch parameters for these missiles should be similar for the heart of the envelope - might just be a slightly different WEZ shape and g requirements that are shaped by maneuverability (Aside from the obvious difference of having a different motor). I'll try to dig something up.

I normally dislike this site but they do have some good info. Just don't look at their Russian AAM ranges, they're rather optimistic while western ones are pessimistic ... same setup for sensors/datalinks/radars/irsts etc :)
