Hi folks,

Hopefully, this question wasn't asked before. Searching didn't help much. Decided to ask here.

How can I talk to ATC in Nevada using Mig21 radio? For example, I am in Nellis AFB and I see Chan 12 in map. Used channel 12 in radio to talk but no response.

The RSBN and PRMG works quite ok though.

Either the ATC folks are very rude folks, or they don't understand Russian and I'll need to use sign gestures :megalol:

make sure, the preset channel frequency matches the frequency of the tower

1. Where can I set the frequency in Mig21?

2. How can I see the frequency of the tower?

1) you can edit the preset channels in the mission editor (maybe they are listed on the kneeboard)

2) click on the airport symbol of the airport you want, then a window should come up with some details of the airport frequency and other things

No.1 is difficult as I am playing as client.

Now2. Gotta try that one. Will report how it goes. Thanks :)

I don't know if it is, but I can imagine that the frequency of your channels might be written in the kneeboard. Might be worth for a check

ok, it seems that you can't change the radio frequency in cockpit (like one can do in Mi8). Only channels.

Now it is up to server admins and mission planners to do it in mission editor.

The "channel 12" is 12X for the Nellis TACAN which has nothing to do with talking to anyone.

Nellis communicates on 327, 132.55, 38.7, and 3.9 MHz. The 132.55 is the one the MiG's radio can use. The default frequencies in the editor for the 20 channels are all whole numbers identical to the Caucasus arrangement. This worked somewhat in the past where NTTR's frequencies were whole numbers with lots of overlap with Caucasus. But NTTR changed to new realistic numbers and there is little to no overlap.

In short if the mission maker didn't take the time to adjust the frequencies from default in an NTTR mission there's nothing the MP client can do.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. This certainly clarified the confusion :)
