Sorry for reviving this old thread, but I have a question. I'm comfortable with setting up 36 plane raids. Has anyone tried to add another wing, though? That is, 72 planes. Would that be too much of a performance hit?

Meh, it is a blow to performance. Not when they're just flying around, but as soon as there is flak and fighters, not to mention when they drop bombs. I get 1 fps...

Interesting. I used the stress test mission linked above when all the bombs drop on the airfield I am down to single digit fps too. Once the explosions stop its back to playable again

Yep, dropping bombs and explosions are a big FPS hit. I guess I'll work with 2 groups only, one behind the other, that means 72 planes.
