Ftrdoc Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Hi folks Am a NG with DCS & the A-10C. Have TM Warthog HOTAS throttle and stick which seem to be mapped correctly and function normally. Just installed Saitek ProFlt rudders which did not map properly. Rudder inputs cause uncommanded stick deflections in L& R roll. Toe brake inputs cause uncomanded roll and pitch deflections. After checking Options, I found rudder to be mapped with pitch, roll & rudder under "Axis". Under "All" rudder is mapped to almost all views, weapon release, stick to trimmer control, and HOTAS nose wheel steering. Interestingly rudder inputs do move the rudder pedals on the Sim screen appropriately. This is probably an easy fix for some of you old heads out there, but I'm not sure where to even start and obviously don't want to screw it up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.
kylekatarn720 Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 go inside options, then controls. Choose "A10-C Sim" from the first drop down menu on the upper left corner. Choose "All" from the second one. Click on any cell under your rudder device. Press "Clear Category". Now Choose "Axis Commands" from the second drop down menu. Again use "Clear Category" on one of your rudder devices cells. Now map your rudder device as you wish. It should start working properly. 1
Ftrdoc Posted May 29, 2017 Author Posted May 29, 2017 Sorry. Probably didn't make myself clear. I understand how to clear the cells. What I don't know is what script to replace them with and is that different in the "axis" and "all" category. The more detail here the better. Have also seen that toe brakes have to be "inverted" or they will remain 100%.?
cichlidfan Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 There is no script. Just map the rudder and brake controls to the correct axis manually and you are done. Btw, yes the brakes needed to be inverted. However, if you don't they don't stay at 100%, they just work backwards so that when you press the pedals it releases the brakes. kylekatarn720 Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 @Ftrdoc i dont think i understand your problem but like cichlidfan said there is no script. You just need to clear everything that are maped to that device and map them manually.
feefifofum Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Once you've cleared the other crap out, just go to axis commands. Each controller you have connected will display in a column. In the column for your rudder pedals, double click on the empty rudder field. Move your rudder action all the way through both extremes of its field of motion. DCS should auto detect the correct axis, or you can select it from the drop down menu. Repeat this for each toe brake. One the left and right toe brake are bound, you will need to click them once and then select "axis tune" from the bottom of the menu. Check the box that says "invert" to make the brakes behave normally. (by default, pressing the pedal will actually RELEASE the brake) THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC
Ftrdoc Posted May 31, 2017 Author Posted May 31, 2017 Thanks all for your help. Mapped perfectly. Just finished my Dollar Ride and all went well. Great jet....this is going to be a real challenge and much fun.
