Ghostrider142 Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Here is my system: i7-4770K @3.50GHz EVGA 1070 8GB Superclocked MSI Z97 Gaming Samsung SSD 16GB ram I am running on a 32" 1440p monitor and have been playing 2.0 on the max settings, with the exception of turning Msaa down to 4x and Anisotropic to 4x, and was getting good frames, 50-60 range. Running 2.1 and I have already turned off msaa and anisotropic entirely, turned trees and clutter down to minimum, set my cockpit displays to 512 and fold the mirrors as soon as I start and my frames jump from 21, 60, 32, 21, 70, 30, 60, 21, 2-3 times a second and visually it looks like I'm getting 15 frames a second. If I am going to have to turn down settings to the low or medium default with a system like mine, something is seriously wrong. Anyone have a 1070 and run 1440p? What are your settings and frames? i7-4770K @3.50GHz; EVGA 1070 8GB Superclocked; 16GB Ram; MSI Z97 Gaming; two Samsung 500GB SSD's in RAID; TrackIR; 32" 2560x1440 Samsung
BitMaster Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 I have a 980GTX AND RUN MSAA2X AND AAF 16X and have like 2-3x the framerate ! Something must be wrong ! I have Mirrors ON, Visibility to Extreme, Civiltraffic OFF, Shadows Medium+Flat and the others at HIGH and 512bit for cockpit res. Trees are at 14k, Grass at 500 and Preload at Max. So I guess my settings are even somewhat more demanding while still getting more FPS. your 3.5GHz might be the reason, try overclocking it (way) beyond 4GHz and check again. NeilWillis Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Check out all the threads covering Normandy and frame rates. There are some incompatibility issues with graphics settings, and even steps like renaming your saved games folder to force the shaders stored within to be regenerated can make a huge difference. I gained around 30% in frame rates by following all the steps the resident experts describe in them. You just need to do your homework for some seriously useful results.
lemoen Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 My 1070 runs pretty close to 100% in places at 1080p. 1440p is going to push it over the limit. Run MSI Afterburner and see what's the bottleneck for you.

David OC Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 I was getting bad fps in 2.1, down to 30:cry: Now 90 fps down to 55 FPS when over Caen in Normandy. Regarding DCS World 2.1 Release 6. If using Deferred Shading, you may wish to set your MSAA and Anisotropic values to zero, and instead enable these only through your graphics cards settings manager. Go to your NVIDIA and set MSA, AA up there, now I get 80 - 90 FPS 50 over Caen City etc in the free flight mission Bf 109 for an example. Ghostrider142 Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 I did the saved folder trick and frames shot back up. I set my AA in Nvidia but I don't see an MSAA in the control panel, so I left it in DCS, fps still good. Is it under another name? However the flare/glare is outrageous Normandy, especially over the water, anyone else having this. I can't see things right in front or next to me at times because of it. i7-4770K @3.50GHz; EVGA 1070 8GB Superclocked; 16GB Ram; MSI Z97 Gaming; two Samsung 500GB SSD's in RAID; TrackIR; 32" 2560x1440 Samsung
NeilWillis Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 The flare has been noted by the developers. Expect a lot of refinement in the coming weeks. I also suspect that the in-game control of graphics parameters will be resolved in the short term too. Good to know you are getting the results you need.

Ghostrider142 Posted June 3, 2017 Author Posted June 3, 2017 Well, I take back everything I said about the saved games folder fixing the game, it doesn't. When I play an instant action or a mission that comes with a module, it is fine, but any mission I have made, including a small one I made tonight in Normandy the stuttering is still really bad, regardless of my settings. Hope the next update comes soon. i7-4770K @3.50GHz; EVGA 1070 8GB Superclocked; 16GB Ram; MSI Z97 Gaming; two Samsung 500GB SSD's in RAID; TrackIR; 32" 2560x1440 Samsung
gavagai Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 correct, 1440p I dont have Normandie, but NTTR. NTTR has pretty good performance in 2.1. Normandy is still pretty rough, so I wouldn't use NTTR performance for discussions of 2.1 Normandy performance. Adjusting settings may help some, but it is no substitute for a fix from ED. 2.1 performance is definitely worse than 2.0.5, even in the NTTR map.
