peplum
Hello, Which is your advise to play DCS with this graphical configuration ? Screen size and pixel density. Budget is 200-300 bills. Thank you.
cichlidfan
Are you running a 970 or a 1060? Your title doesn't make it clear. Size is irrelevant, only resolution matters. IMHO, with a 1060 you should be fine at 1440p. VRAM matters, too, so I would not try 4k without 8GB of VRAM. peplum
I'm to get a 970 or a 1060. For what I've read, the powers are almost the same.

Boosterdog
Be careful with the 1060 - there are two versions - one with 3GB, one with 6GB. You really need the 6GB one. With my I5 660K and a 1060 DCS 2.1 is playable at 1080P with medium settings. How this will or will not improve as the Alpha is optimised further is unknown. sea2sky
I run gtx970 (OC 4Gb) with 2560x2640. I get around 75-100fps in 1.5, and manage to milk out some 55-70fps in 2.1. So, I guess with a single 1440p screen you should be even better. i5-9600K@4.8GHz ★ 32Gb DDR4 ★ Asus TUF rtx3080 OC ★ Quest Pro ★ Warthog on Virpil base
peplum
So 1060/6GB 1440p would be ok ? I'm to get a 27 screen and wonder if I have to choose a 1080 or a 1440p one. Edited June 6, 2017 by peplum
BitMaster
I think the 1060/6GB was in comparison tests about as fast as my 980GTX and that serves 1440p just well. The 2GB more VRAM will surely do some good too. I would definitly NOT look for the 3GB version with DCS ! Prior to my 4k monitor, I was also driving a 1440p display, along with a 1080p display for instruments via Helios, using a GTX980 and it worked quite well. peplum
I'm now regarding a 4k display (Hp envy 27s) but I won't have the horsepowers to run DCS at 4k. Is it terrible to run DCS on downscale 1080p on a 4k display ?
gavagai
Is it terrible to run DCS on downscale 1080p on a 4k display ? Terrible? No, it is just ugly. The lowest I can tolerate is 1440.
