Silver_Dragon Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Tu-95 never was used on combat as bomber (Bear A), the others versions was specialised anti-ship missile carrier / Cruised Missile / EW / Maritime Patrol. And never was used on Korea (war previous to the bear deploy) 1950-53 vs 56+ or other conflict as conventional bomber. Ir someone we see a Tu-95/Tu-95M (Bear A) version, only can be on a 56 - 60 conflict. All conventional / Nuclear bombers was converted on Tu-95KS Missile Carrier versions. For a Korean war (and the URRS never deploy heavy bombers on Korea), can be a Tu-4, Il-4, Il-28 and other old WW2 bombers. I guess I figured it would be easier to get Tu-95 to serve as a iron bomb carpet bomber with appropriate mission, than an entirely new aircraft model. And while not in service during the Korean war in particular, would it not still be not anachronistic for the "era"? In particular, it's performance (speed/altitude) would put it within reach of the F-86, for example? I suppose, now that you bring it up, though, we do have a B-29 mod, and it might make sense just to relabel this one a Tu-4 and give it to the Soviet and Soviet-supported countries?
Silver_Dragon Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 ED has plans to a new 3D model (no dates) but not a A version. He expected work on a missile carrier version. Others soviet bombers has unkonow. The MOD has not work of ED. The modders need make them. msalama Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 (edited) Here ya go. I made this ages ago already. Worked the last time I used it. The new loadouts are FAB-250 x 24, FAB-500 x 12 and FAB-1500 x 3. EDIT: Nope, seems to drop only 1 bomb per a go instead of the whole payload. Ah well, this IS an old script, so... EDIT2: No sorry, it does work. You just have to explicitly order the bomber to use bombs and expend all in one go.Tu-95MS multirole.zip Edited June 11, 2017 by msalama 3 The DCS Mi-8MTV2. Tried in 2.1, Normandy map, using both "bombing" and "ground attack" options under "Perform Task". As you said, selected "bomb" and "all" for options. Only caveats: (1) Need to set altitude to 21000 ft or below at action waypoint, or otherwise after reaching waypoint, aircraft will circle around (taking a loooooooooong arc) to descend to that altitude before bombing. (2) Need to make sure sufficient offset between bombing target (triangle) and waypoint of action. If too close, then, again, aircraft will circle around in long arc before carrying out bombing. (3) Aircraft seems to be 200-300 knots for bombing. Setting higher speed in mission profile is fine: aircraft will just slow down appropriately. Presumably, if they cannot slow down enough, they may circle around. Keeping the above caveats in mind allows for Cherbourg to get a proper pounding! Now to add it Mig-15's for escorts and throw in some F-86's for cover!
