Frame Rates - VC view versus External view (F2)

Hi all,

I'm a newbie to DCS. I'm still working my way around the cockpit and various systems.

However, my issue is related to the topic title.

My specs are specified below.

Specifically, I'm finding that within the VC I'm achieving frames of 60 with nice fluidity.

However, once I switch to F2 external view and/or F6 Weapon view, the frames drop sharply to around 14 with intermittent stutters.

I was wondering why this was the case, given DCS is 64 bit and my hardware is reasonably solid.

I have a wealth of experience in FSX (and previous incarnations - all 32 bit of course) and found that the reverse is the case - whereby external views see an increase in FPS as opposed to a decrease of FPS in VC view.

I have manipulated several settings in DCS (as per some recommendations I searched through this forum) but none have remedied the external FPS drop I'm experiencing.

Appreciate some assistance.

PS: unless I'm mistaken, I haven't seen any nvidia inspector profiles created exclusively for DCS A10C? Is this correct? I have found NVI an invaluable tool for FSX and other simulators I've used and am wondering if NVI could be useful with DCS?

Option> Depth of Field> Off

This option cause FPS issue in external view.

@droopy114

I'll certainly give that a try and report back on the result.

Thanks....

@droopy114

Many thanks, the adjustment to DOF cured the problem!
