I set up a bunch of flak cannons and flew a group of B17s over them. The B17s took serious losses, but visually they seemed to be exploding of their own accord: there were no visible flak bursts near or on the target aircraft.

the burst's are Work in progress, more features and effects to come in future updates as the alpha build progresses

Will that include tracer fire from the AA BN? As when AA is firing at me I cant see it! Kinda spoils atmosphere and makes AA difficult to find especially at night!

I can see FlaK 30 (20mm German) firing at me, even during the daytime. It's the only way I can find those little buggers :P

It's not the german flak, its the only air defence that Britain and france seem to have and its just black bullets that are basically invisible though I will sometimes see what appear to be flys buzzing around me before realizing good god I'm under attack. I'm flying Dora D-9 so I cant really use the german flak. And you're right without the tracer I cant find them, finding ground targets in VR is really tough to be honest. Any tips?

I set up a mission with 2 P-51D's attacking 2 truck convoys as the pass through a bombed town with 4 FlaK 30's. I knew where I had placed them, but still couldn't see them while looking from a safe altitude. I noticed that they were not even rendered until I got within about 2000 feet, unless I had zoomed in on them.

I wanted to put sandbags around them to make them a larger target to spot.... but there are no sandbags  So I created a ring of 12 of Tetrapods with a diameter of about 20 feet and plopped the flak right down in the middle of it

I looks quite formidable at first, but it really isn't. Attacking from a high angle, and the pods do nothing,

besides, whether they have any protective value at all I don't know. You can blast them about with the P-51D's MG's, that is the MG hits can push them off position, especially, if they are on uneven ground, so I have my doubts.

One might be able to use them with this new fangled Template function, because <Shift><Click>'ing all 12 to copy them for another flak unit is a PITA. I guess I'll have to look into that.
