Mission editor camera?

Would it be possible to have a small 3D view of the map in the mission editor to aid with placement of ground units etc, the "Satellite" view is ok, but it doesn't show all the detail, and sometimes that can be an issue if you're wanting to place units with accuracy around map objects, it requires a back and forth between the mission editor and the 3D environment, which can get tedious with complex missions with lots of units.

It's a fantastic idea that has been requested many many many times before... we can only hope it will some day be offered up.. welcome to the DCS ME club!

A 3D editor is very much needed full stop. I could've sworn one actually is in fact in development (or at least planned) I just need to find the post... but when it will be available is hard to say.

For me the best option is to keep the current 2D editor (just because the maps are big and it's easy to use) then have a 3D mode. Very much like ArmA 3's EDEN editor which for me is the best editor I've ever used. You can make lots of content very quickly and easily, giving you lots of control which would be a godsend and would make DCS like 10x the sim it already is.
