I'm doing some real world flight training and saw this picture in the hallway. I thought it was way to cool not to share.

78th FG had by far the coolest unit markings for Mustangs in the ETO.

 

Ironically, I believe that they flew P-51s in combat for the shortest period of all 8th AF fighter units, converting from P-47s in the late fall of 1944. Undoubtedly this was to limit the jealousy of the other Mustang drivers.

Beautiful pic! ...Try to get another with less reflections (hint: turn off the hall lights), also post the title of it and the photographer, so people can buy a print.

Haha. Yea I think the company might frown upon that! There some more here that I will have to get pics of. They have some killer P51 pics all over the place.
