Is there any free app I can use with a friend so we can hear each other like in a real radio?

 

Ive been searching the web but found nothing.

I actually dont like mods or anything like that. We just wanted for chat and not to change how DCS comms work.

These are so interesting things today in modern era.

 

A modern military radios has gone digital, so you will not hear such bad distortions at all and are closer to the common VoIP with just higher compression. You will get the distortion once you start to get jammed and other electronic interview where the digital signaling is dropping packages.

 

This is for to start same thing as with example digital photography where manufacturers are trying in all their power to get as clean signal from sensors to be captured, lenses to be manufactured with as little as possible optical flaws for light gathering etc. And then people spend lots of time to do reviews, check and watch reviews, spend big money to get better equipment and finally they end up to add noise, add visual flaws etc all that was corrected by manufacturers, only because "it looks real".

 

There are nice differences with a communication systems what are required and wanted. If wanted realism, just add some background hum from the cockpit (route the cockpit sound from DCS to the microphone somehow ;))

We dont use TS, currently we're using Discord. Any chance there's something for it?

Its just an idea to vote. Not implemented in discord yet :(

I do not VOIP in the only Discord channel that I ever use, so I do not know how useful this program will be to you. Just a suggestion after a quick Google search. I'm afraid that is about as much help as I can be. I will bow out and let someone with more Discord knowledge (or knowledge of mic input/output software) chime in. I hope that you find what you are looking for.

that was actually pretty good, the only thing is it took away my soundboard eco cancellation and environment suppresion features.

 

ill look for one similar though.
