I'm impressed again, after I got it to work. (Hornet over PG SuperCarrier)

 

Iran's navy already lost some vessels and the Iranian air defence fears my HARMs and the Airforce's GBU's :D

 

I experienced 2 bugs wich are more related to DCS itself, I think:

 

-AI Flights will roll through the static deck objects.

-The carrier group performs some really dangerous maneuvers with almost-/collisions during a turn.

 

When I use the ME to make my Flight a 2-ship instead of 4, for example, some AI unit's time on waypoint seems to be messed up. They fly really slow what looks strange.

I remember one of the creators say that it's not allowd to use the ME or even the mission planer in former versions. Still the case?

 

As always: Greatest DCS SP campaign experience so far! I'm really curious if the DCS DCE can deliver something compareable!!! :music_whistling:

Miguel is working intensively on MP in DCE :thumbup:

It worked quite well when we used it in our annual LAN (7 players) and his newest version should be even better with all players in the same package (so same radio channel for SRS)

Escort mission of an anti ship strike (Viggens) from Al Dafra AB.

The strike package never spawns. Had a look in the ME. There is simply no Viggen strike group created. Other escort missions worked fine.

Thanks @Miguel21 for taking the time to review. When you check the mission planning it seems you start from the hot parking lot, but when you start the mission the plane is in flight :( I think it's something with the programmed times for the waypoints, in fact when you execute the firstmission.bat the ETA is at 0, from what I understand from ATO_Timing.lua removes waypoints that don't make sense and places you in the waypoint that enforces the flight time. What you think?

one more:

 

F-16 AI SEAD Flights use the AGM-45 Shrike instead of the AGM-88C HARM missile.

What I observed is that those flights fire one Shrike at the SAM site, turn around and leave the AO.

When I changed their loadout to HARMS they stay and supress the SAM's as long as they got missiles.

 

another one: (perhaps more DCS bug related)

During a longer mission (escort for a strike mission) I saw a Hornet on the deck of the SC stuck somewhere in the wires.

It should roll to a cat but instead it blocked the hole deck of the carrier. More and more flights were spawning and waiting with running engines on the deck.

 

a last one:

Don't think it has much to do with your work.

AI Tomcat crashed (really slow) into a S-3B tanker while trying to refuel. It looked like the cat was trying to push the tanker forward.

I don't know, I have to do some tests.

Maybe ED has changed things, I won't have time to look before this weekend.

Thanks, I'll ask Cef for the first problem, the others look like DCS bugs.

 

For the second bug, the F18 had landed or was trying to position itself for catapulting?

Yes this is a loadout mistake : I used an old Mbot first campaigns loadout and forgot to change it. I will fixe it with the next version or may be sooner with a file ;)

How difficult or easy would it be to convert the existing A10C campaigns to the use the A10CII? I have had a quick scout through the related DCE files but can't see anything obvious. Is it a simpe change or a major rework?

Well it should not be very difficult : Change the aircraft type in oob_air_init.lua (in Init folder) from A-10C to A-10C_2 then create a loadout set for the A-10C_2 in the db_loadouts.lua (same folder) To do that I use mission editor renaming an existing A-10C_2 loadout or creating one and giving it a new name. You will find this new detailled loadouts in the MissionEditor/UnitsPayloads/A-10C_2 folder in your Saved Games/DCS(or DCS.OpenBeta) folder. Inspire you from A-10C loadout to create the new sets. Be careful : AI are not able to manage different kind of weapons in DCE in the same mission : they use Rockets OR Bombs OR Guided Bombs OR ASM etc ... look other aircrafts sets to find variable you need to put to attack each kind of targets ! You must look at the Hard point numbers : the first number must be changed to be the same as the one at the end of the line :

By defaut it's :

Had one more problem with my Wingmen during anti-ship strikes. (Hornets over PG Supercarrier 20.38.01 in OpenBeta)

When I give the order "Attack mission target and rejoin" they will not "allways" attack the intended shipgroup. It seems that they fire their harpoons at a random hostile ship anywhere on the map.

 

I have a really hard time to take out that frigate, patroling near Queshm Island or what it's called...

 

BTW: Will there be a ground invasion into Iran, after air defences and strategic targets are eliminated?

Many thanks, I will have a "play" with this. Ultimately I just want to allow my friend and I to use the A10C-II in DCE campaigns, not too worried about AI using the new model etc. I will have a read through now I understand (I think) the locations and files involved :thumbup:

I wanted to give the TF71 80's Super Carrier a try.

No matter what I do Iam not able to use unguided bombs due to a failure of INS alignment I guess. Searched the forum on how to do it properly but no way!

The CCIP bomb fall line does not go straight down. AUTO (CCRP) mode is not usable as well. Tried Inflight Alignment, navigation seems to be good, but not the weapon delivery modes.

 

What am I missing here?

is the carrier turning into the wind?

if it is and your start up is already on and going it can mess up your alignment. used to happen a lot to me on the f14. id just wait until the ship completed the turn.

that didnt affect ccip/rp though, it affected navigation itself..
