BlazingTrigger Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Hello, New user. I succeeded to shutdown the engine while on the parking but fail to restart using the same procedure as initial parking startup. Any idea please ? RegardsDid you close the HP cock to shut the engine down? RShift+end? Or did you close the LP cock on the right with the guarded switch? If you don't close the HP cock using the throttle the engine won't start at all. Hope it helps. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
peplum Posted August 28, 2017 Author Posted August 28, 2017 I switched off the two pumps and then the right LP if my memories are good.
Vilab Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 to shut off the engine, just press the red button at the right of the throttle. it may be better to ask for ground power before shutting it off, so you keep all the lights, radar working to re ignite the engine, re-open the starter cover, and press the button while the throttle is at zero. ( you have to press the red shutdown button at the right of the throttle to get the throttle set to zero, your controller can only set it to idle ), when the RPM is at 10% move your throttle controller to set it at idle. the engine shut off and re-ignition are one of the easiest thing to do in the mirage.
BlazingTrigger Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 I switched off the two pumps and then the right LP if my memories are good.Ok that sounds about right, what I normally do if I intend to restart the engine is put throttle to idle and Rshift+end to close the throttle fully and then the engine will shut down and then do the pumps and LP. All it then needs is to reverse the process with the addition of hitting the starter before opening the HP cock (throttle to idle). Give it a whirl and let me know Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Vilab Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 (edited) WRONG : the R-shift + end thing is a "cheat", you may also use R-shift + home to cold start the Mirage ( you still have to warn the radar, set your iff and CM ) the red button at the right of the throttle is the real thing, it is the "shut the engine down " button which put the throttle to zero = engine shut off. it is interesting to learn that, since moving the throttle before starting the engine will prevent you form starting it. The throttle must be at zero to start the engine and your controller alone don t allow you to set it there. Edited August 29, 2017 by Vilab

Ramsay Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 the R-shift + end thing is a "cheat", It's not a cheat, it's the keyboard shortcut for the red button by the throttle that moves it past the idle stop. you may also use R-shift + home to cold start the Mirage ( you still have to warn the radar, set your iff and CM ) You are mistaken - R-shift+home is the keyboard shortcut for lifting the start button cover and pressing the starter button. You are probably mistaking the "Rshift" shortcuts for the DCS automatic start up and shut down "cheats" which use the "LWin" key, they are Auto Startup Procedure LWin+Home Auto Shutdown Procedure LWin+End the red button at the right of the throttle is the real thing, it is the "shut the engine down " button which put the throttle to zero = engine shut off. This button can be depressed via mouse click or RShift+End i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
