iVVChewy9141VVi Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 i5 7600K with 1070 or i7 7700K with 1070 Will use this for gaming and streaming
SVgamer72 Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 If you are planning on streaming, do some research on the advantages of Ryzen7 over the i5/i7. One of the few cases where AMD is recommended over Intel is for streamers due to the benefits of having the most CPU threads possible (Ryzen7=16 vs i7=8 ). You need as many threads as possible to game and stream on the same box without impacting game performance. If you are set on Intel, then your should get the i7 for this reason.
David OC Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 (edited) OR wait and see what happens with the i7-8700k / i5-8400K chip sets when their released. I upgraded from an old i5 non K version, so upgraded straight to the best single thread chip 7700K with a good mobo combo, I would have considered the Ryzen if it was available. My setup with the 7700K and 1070 is more than capable for recording while playing, I use Action and record 1440 x 2560 @ 60fps, not streamed before, it should be good tho. . I do stream as well and it's ok with the 7700k. I would still consider a Ryzen/Threadripper for a new build for myself, multi-tasking while gaming being only one of the reasons. The very least I would consider is an i5, actually I never considered those as "equal", but that's only me ( already hear ya yellin' Demon ;) ) Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X

Konovalov Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 i5 7600K with 1070 or i7 7700K with 1070 Will use this for gaming and streaming If I had to choose between the two then the much more expensive 7700k. If all you do is game then the much cheaper 7600k. I would also consider looking at AMD with the Ryzen 7 1700 if you do plenty of streaming as an alternative to the i7-7700k.
