Hi guys. I've just fitted my new Asus Strix 1080ti card, which is rather nice.

I'm still using the stock settings at the moment, and am fishing for tips on how best to set this card up for DCS. I'm currently running a 1080p monitor, or an Oculus, (with a 4k monitor to come soon.)

I can get about 180+ fps in 1.5.7 on screen, and not much shy of that in 2.0. In VR though, it's a different story. In Caucasus, the frame rate seems to be capped at 45 fps, and it doesn't drop below that. In Normandy, the cap remains, but my fps is dropping to less than 30 at times. Is that a hard cap for VR?

Can someone please steer me towards the best settings that I can use in both DCS and NVIDIA settings to serve my purposes? I am aware that they will need to be altered, depending on my display medium - but I'd like to have a clue where to start.

The major pain at the mo, is having the gunsight in the Spitfire act like it's 'swimming.' The whole thing is really distorted. I had the same issue with my 980ti, and never got to solve it, what do I need to do to stop that?

Grateful for any help or pointers offered.

Many thanks.

Hi, capped at 45fps with Rift is because you have "Vsync" checked in DCS settings. Uncheck it as it mess with the Rift.

For settings, the ones I use in DCS 2.1.1 (the ones in "video1" but with 1.5 Pixel density) with my 1080 Ti ? :

I don't use nvidia settings, just max. perf. for powering mode in nvidia panel, and max power limit + fan settings in afterburner.

Since the latest Nvidia driver update, the HDMI cable trick for vibrance no longer works with Rift, what do you do to get NVidia input now?

Thanks for your inputs, folks. I have no idea what the Oculus tray tool is. I'll investigate.

Was there not some trick involving increasing the resolution in the Nvidia tray past what is needed by Oculus in order to increase detail levels? Or am I way off track here?

The resolution is increased by pixel density setting in dcs.

The floating spitfire sight and fps cap means that you have ASW enabled (default setting). Ctrl+Numpad 1 to disable it, or use oculus tray tool as mentioned. Keep in mind that disabling asw is not a magic bullet, it will fix the gunsight but may cause the image to blur and stutter at lower fps.

Ed is unwilling to fix the unrealistic prop effect in the spitfire (which messes up the ASW) despite this being reported to them since the beginning of the Spit beta.

Sorry fitness88 I read about this "vibrance trick" in a thread but I never experienced it.

Read this post...you never know when the next Nvidia drivers will once again allow for this 'HDMI Trick' to work again Too bad it's currently disabled it worked great!

EDIT: I just spoke with Nvidia tech support. He wasn't aware of the disabling of the 'HDMI Trick' with the new drivers [385.41]. Actually he wasn't aware of the 'HDMI Trick' in the first place so he said he would escalate the call. I think I'm going to roll back to an earlier driver version...there wasn't any benefit from the new ones worth keeping.
