twistking Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Hello, just realized, that the cbu-97 now has an effect like an cbu-87. When it opens, you still see the little parachutes, but the effect on the ground is similar to normal cluster bombs, in which it just showers the ground randomly in golden sparks, without doing too much damage. This is probably a bug, as i suspect, that it just inheritet functionality of generic cluster bombs by mistake. Also, i still can't believe that normal cluster bombs are represented correctly in dcs. I could not find a situation, where a single cbu-87 would be more effective than f.e. a pair of iron bombs, even when being "blindfired" on suspected target locations without proper aiming. This not a bug per se, but maybe still worth looking into. *on steam stable build My improved* wishlist after a decade with DCS *now with 17% more wishes compared to the original
P.Carrasco =Keep Flying= Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Hello, I also realized the change of the cbu-97 is weaker than before. =/ System: Asus TUF Z390-Pro Gaming/ Intel i5-9600k@ Coffeelake 9a Gen/ Water Cooler Corsair Hydro H45/ Corsair Vengeance Lpx 32Gb 3200Mhz/ EVGA GeForce RX 2070 Super 8Gb Gddr6 256Bits/ 1 SSd M2 3gen 1Tb Xpg/ Headset Corsair + SoundCloud BlasterX Pro Gaming AE-5 / Corsair HX1000i W Plus Platinum/ Case Corsair Gamer Series Obsidiam 500D/ LG 32" 4k Monitor Dp/ Track Ir5 w/Clip Pro/ Saitek Hino X56
cthulhu68 Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 There's been a few threads on this already. I'd argue that what we see now is more like IRL. Instead of only a few skeets detonating and hitting target 100% of the time, lots of additional skeets detonate and miss.
Frederf Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 It's not so much a miss but a self-detonate at 50' if they haven't found a below EFP target by then.
