Hellcat61 Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Would someone be kind enough to explain to me how to set up multiple jets preparing to take off in the parking area? It seems that if I dont make the aircraft part of my flight, they wont take appear. For instance: I want to excort a B-52 in my Eagle. I need him to take off from the parking area ahead of me and not be a member of my flight. He just doesnt show up at all. Why is this, and how can it be corrected? I appreciate any help I can get. -Helk "When you're out of Tomcats, you're out of fighters!"
Corsair7662 Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 just create another flight group, assign its destination or waypoints, and tell him to takeoff from parking area and he should show up and also dont make him Client or Player :P
Highwayman-Ed Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 The only way I've managed to do this is to fake it. Make the B52 start at 20ft over the middile of the runway with a waypoint about 3km past the end of the runway at 1500ft, then add the rest of the waypoints. When you start your mission, it kind of looks like it's just getting airbourne, and you just need to catch up. You could add a couple of waypoints after the runway one to make it do a couple of circuits first, but the AI interpretation of tightly grouped waypoints usually ends up in the AI aircraft making ridiculous corrections to it's attitude to fly exactly over the waypoint... I have this problem in all of the missions that I make trying to simulate a CAP... :( Intel i9-9900KF @5.2GHz MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon 32GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR3200 RAM MSI RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio 40" Panasonic TH-40DX600U @ 4K Pimax Vision 8K Plus / Oculus Rift CV1 / HTC Vive Gametrix JetSeat with SimShaker Windows 10 64 Bit Home Edition [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Weta43 Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 "AI aircraft making ridiculous corrections to it's attitude to fly exactly over the waypoint" Could you not either just lock the altitude of the AI or set the waypoints at the hight the AI seem to prefer (prior to making their adjustments) - assuming this en-route rather than the engagement part of the mission itself. Cheers.
Hellcat61 Posted January 5, 2007 Author Posted January 5, 2007 Only way I got it to work was setting the Buff (or whatever aircraft is needed) within your flight, start at the taxi area. The other aircraft in your flight will automatically taxi, take off and complete its mission, or so it seems. I will continue to look into this more in depth. I would just like to be able to set them up as seperate flights that take off independently. "When you're out of Tomcats, you're out of fighters!"
666th_birdy Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 only members of your flight will taxi simultanous with you. All other flights will start to taxi once your flight is airborne (no matter their TO time) Nothing you can do about that. like highwayman said, put an airborne flight in to fake his take off DELL Inspiron 1564 / Intel Core i3 M330 @ 2.13GHz (4GB)___ATI Radeon HD4330(512Mb)___Windows7 Home Premium 64bit
Brit_Radar_Dude Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Hellcat61 - if you are his escort why would it not be OK for you (and ya wingmen) to be one of the flights in the package. Sure you will have the same flight plan (waypoints) as the bomber but you dont have to follow them, and of course your wingman/wingmen will follow you wherever you choose to go.... A couple of definitions to help any n00bs reading this thread. Flight - consists of one or more PILOTS ( up to 4) Package - consists of one or more FLIGHTS ( up to 99 ) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....
