Su-33 Project T10M Skins

With the PFM for the Su-33 getting closer to release at the end of the month I thought the aircraft could also get some optical improvements.

 

So I made five different liveries which are based on the prototype and production variants of Project T10M, a program to improve capabilities for the Su-27 Flanker.

 

The Su-27M Flanker received canards during it's improvement phase which are also present on the Su-33 thus the skins are made for the Su-33 in DCS World.

- addition of a weathered (710) livery

- minor adjustments and fixes to all aircraft

- changed all skin names

Excellent repaints, especially the Bort 88! It would be great to make an early repaints of Flanker-D (the dark blue ones that came out straight from the factory).

A little nitpick on your description though. The T10M was initially known as the Su-27M, but was later redesignated Su-35(same way as Su-27K became Su-33) and wasn't really an "upgrade" to the Su-27, but rather an entirely new multirole version with a new airframe(not just addition of canards) and fly-by-wire control system as well as a new system's package(including new radar and WCS).

 

The currently operated Su-35S is an upgraded version of the T10M.

I'll admit at the beginning I had very little knowledge and I just wanted to make these liveries but I could compensate that with searching for better images. I will correct the description then.

I only mentioned it because I noticed that some people were confused about what aircraft the skins are depicting. Maybe it would be a good idea to change the title on the download page to something like: "Su-35(T10M) liveries for the Su-33".

Are you sure? Because i found photos of B/N 78, up to 88 with that dark colour scheme. They were built from 1991 up to 1997, so they can't be pre-production ones.

I cannot remember having seen the operational Su-33s with anything other than the standard one - are you sure that it isn't just the lighting conditions that makes it look darker in some photos?.

They do ressemble a lot the B/N 109 colour scheme, but as you can see in the last photo, it's a bit diffrent but maybe, it is just a lighting.

Also in the first of your photos the Sukhoi emblem is painted on the tailfins, while the squadron markings(golden eagle and tiger head) aren't there yet in any of them.

 

The scheme I had in mind when you talked about a darker one, is the one as seen on the T10K-6(no 79) in the attached photos - initially it also had dark grey radome and tailfin tips.

Yes, excatly. But at least we can see a progression from dark scheme on 79 to 109 a bit more lighter and than the defintive from B/N 60 perhaps .

They were brand new without any emblems, unforntunately the paint started to fade just after three years of operations. But at least it would be quite significant to have that scheme from T.A.Apakidze era:music_whistling:

I am working on a 3D cockpit for the older test version(based on photos of the T10K-5), so for me the above no. 79 scheme would also be great :)

I guess it depends on who made the skin you tweaked - if its a user made skin, you could just ask the person who made it.

There shouldn't be a problem of sharing an existing livery made by ED for free with user made changes, I'm sure all the available skins for the Su-33 are made by Eagle Dynamics.

Thanks! But it was just a tweaking, i think that this scheme deserves a proper skin, so let's see what Texac will come out with. I provided him a lot of photos with decent quality, so wish him a good luck and wait for some news!:thumbup:
