Hi people!

It's my first interaction in this forum, and i am not a native english speaker, so i'll apologize if i commit a mistake or write something wrong!

Well, i've been having problems when using AI big planes, like tankers, awacs, heavy bombers, transport in my missions!

What happens is that they get stuck on the taxiway, or hit each other on taxiway or when ingressing on the runway!

This happens randomly. Sometimes the first one stucks, then you try again and the third one stucks, or the second one stuck and crashes with the third one. Other times, the last one (4th) stucks!!!

I tried putting them, on the same airport, but in far parking spots, and wasn't successfull!

Another problem. The next plane to take off does not hold position until the plane ahead takes off. They ingress together and almost hit each other (sometimes hit as i told above)

I tried with just 3 airfields: beslan, Mineralnye and batumi. All of them i got the problem. Probably, it's a general problem, i think!

As an example:

Open your ME and on batumi, put an IL78 Tanker, an KC135 Tanker and an E-2 AWACS in any order! They will get stuck!

Anyone have any idea to solve it or evade this problem?

Thank you!

Hi Maverick. Consider using late activation to delay your groups so they don't all try to launch at the same time. Create a simple "TIME IS MORE" trigger, then choose GROUP ACTIVATE as the triggered action.

If you would prefer all the aircraft to be visible, check the "uncontrolled" box and leave "late activation" unchecked.

Now, with your group selected, click the "triggered actions" tab at the top of the waypoint menu and then click add -> perform command -> start.

You can then use simple triggers such as "TIME IS MORE" to delay your big jets by a minute or two so they don't have taxi accidents.

Hi feefifofum! Thank you for answering.

I was changing the start time on each aircraft. So, was not necessary to create a trigger and neither use late activation, however, the plane was appearing just at the designated time, and that was a problem. I was wanting it to show up as i start the mission.

So, your hint was the solution of my problem!

You just forget to put on trigger action AI TASK PUSH and select the task above!

Man!!! You are "the guy"!

Thanks a lot!

Some parking bays are also not good for the larger planes in that they don't give them room enough to turn around to line up on the taxiway.

Batumi for example if you start a C-130 from the parking bays closest to the runway they will get stuck midway through the turn as their turning circle is greater than the space between the bay and the edge of the apron.

I fixed it in my missions by making sure any large planes taking off from the smaller airports start from the bays the greatest distance away from the runway.

You can replicate it easily by starting at Batumi by putting a C-130 or AWACS or something in any of the bays closest to the runway and asking it to take off on the runway where you depart out over the water (can't remember runway #). In that case the AI has to do a hard left turn almost 270 degrees on start up and there isn't enough room and it will get stuck midway through the turn on the grass. All aircraft trying to take off behind it will run into it and slowly damage themselves until their AI pilots eject.
