Fonnekold Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 (edited) Hey Y'all I've been flying in VR on 1.5 for about a year now with my current rig and while I don't get the best performance, it has been doable. But as of a couple of weeks ago I have been getting a very severe ghosting effect when I move my head back and forth. The menu loads up fine, but when the loading screen comes up, the ghostings starts. It will SOMETIMES go away after a while but 8/10 times it sticks around for good. Once I leave the mission the ghostings will then follow me back to the menu screen and continue until I restart the game. It first started when I flew in MP, and then started affecting my SP flights as well. This is a new issue for me. I have absolutely everything to the lowest setting except textures to high and cockpit resolution to 1024 (though I have changed both of these to their lowest setting as well; zero effect). Pixel density is set to 1.5. I've also tried preload at full, middle slider and zero. I'm not sure, but I think this issue started after an update. My specs: Mobo: M5A99x Ram: 32Gb DDR3 CPU: AMD Fx 8320 Eight Core 3.50Ghz GPU: Geforce GTX 970 Power: 650w You guys are my last hope. I may have to give up flying (I don't own TrackIR) if I can't get this issue resolved. Thanks in advance Edited November 25, 2017 by Fonnekold
BoosterX Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Check your devices in Oculus. If no red ! then re-run the sensor setup. This is what the simracing forum suggested for same issue.
Buckeye Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 The new 388.xx Nvidia drivers did this to me, I rolled back and I am all good now. Maybe give that a shot? Tic-Tac Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 I recently tried over clocking my GPU using AfterBurner and get this same effect, when I turn afterburner off all goes back to normal. Same as in the op, the 'ghosting' is only when I move my head, stay still and everything looks fine (that's not a suggested solution btw)
SpeedStick Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 I had exactly the same problem. Role back gpu drivers to 385.xx. That worked for me. "Hard to imagine bigger engine. its got a beautiful face and an arse built like sputnik." - Pikey AKA The Poet, on 37 Viggen.
Fonnekold Posted November 25, 2017 Author Posted November 25, 2017 (edited) Oculus sensors have been reconfigured multiple times. Nvidia drivers were updated to the newest driver and then rolled back to 385.xx Problem persists. Edited November 25, 2017 by Fonnekold
Kula66 Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 If it's any help, I noticed this recently too and have just down graded nvidia to v385 and the the problem has gone.
awjudge Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 If it's any help, I noticed this recently too and have just down graded nvidia to v385 and the the problem has gone. I did this too, 10 minutes ago. Stutter has gone! At last. It's been bugging me for a while.
Battis Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 (edited) Also did the driver rollback and the ghosting was gone but... now it`s back intermittently. Not sure if the culprit is a win10-, nvidia or DCS-patch or combination of all these. High hopes for tomorrows game patch. Boxin Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Just stopping by to confirm this is also happening to me, but only in MP. It goes away after I take off. SpeedStick Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Check your drivers again. Mine kept updating back to 388 without even me noticing. Extremly annoying. "Hard to imagine bigger engine. its got a beautiful face and an arse built like sputnik." - Pikey AKA The Poet, on 37 Viggen.
Buckeye Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Check your drivers again. Mine kept updating back to 388 without even me noticing. Extremly annoying. Ditto, the Windows 10 update forced an auto-update for drivers settings which was wreaking havoc on me for the better part of a week before I figured it out and turned it back off.
