Tested without the GAU pod and the SA missile works, I install the GAU pod again and the 1st SA missile works, I charge the mission again and it does not work anymore it just shoots the cannon.

strange conflict with the GAU pod and SA missiles. BUG

Posted

Agreed - conflict with the GAU pod and SA. Was able to fire SA's without gun pod, but could not select SA from the MPCD. Could only select with the Armament panel.

Repairing does not fix the problem, continues firing the cannon and sometimes fires the missile and sometimes the cannon only.

great hotfix, fix maverick and break SA. 8)--

SA was broken before last update, at least for me. And still broken now.

It shoots the gun instead SA , even when selecting them again in the MFDs

Sometimes work , some doesn't. :(

I know this is gonna come off like a dumb question...but you guys selecting A2G mode for the HUD before trying to select sidearm?

Same Sidearm Bug Here

I also get this bug. I can't get the sidearm to fire after it locks. I turn master arm on, hit A\G, then select the SA. If I have the gun pod equipped the gun fires, if I go without it nothing happens. I try selecting the SA through the RWR, the hardpoint button, or the weapons page. It won't fire. I started in the air and tried with a few different AA units. I tried about a dozen different times. I'll try the repair.

I found a way to reproduce the fail 100% of the times , at least for me.

Only sidearm load out, no gunpod or anything else.

-Fresh DCS start.

-Load test mission, air start.

-Select sidearm, go A/G mode, Sidearm fires as expected, no problem.

-Press * A/A Mode DOWN: Gun * button , (C in keyboard)

-Back to sidearm A/G mode , not firing anymore, even if you load the mission again.

Not only that, but it won't fire again until you restart DCS.

I am happy to report that after doing a cleanup and then a repair the sidearms are working as expected. I can fire both and it doesn't seem to matter what method I use to select them.

Can you deliberate more on the clean up process you used please? Hopefully others can try same steps for solution

I can confirm, I was able to reproduce the problem following your steps now. Before cleanup/repair it wouldn't fire at all, if reloading the sim doesn't work for you then try running a cleanup and repair. Here is an easy guide on that. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/709/

I have run both clean up and repair. Will work in one mission then not the next. Not consistent. This has to be a bug. 6 months in on a module without consistent basic weapons capability. Mavericks were broken. Last update fixes Mavericks and breaks Sidearm, and still not armament panel ripple and interval capabilities. I think that more than enough time has elapsed since launch to have the basic items addressed in a ground attack aircraft. Please get this stuff fixed.

I'm having similar issues between GBU-12/AIM-9. I went into dogfight mode, then pressed AG mode and selected GBU-12s....hit the pickle and AIM-9s came flying off the rails. There seems to be some real corrupted weapons coding conflicts.

You guys (ones experiencing the bug) have any mods enabled?

No mods enabled, ....the thing is broken :music_whistling:

Did you tried these steps? is working for you ?

Any word on this being fixed? Not being able to use the sidearm at all anymore really sucks.

I was able to get both side arms to work.

I will try this tonight

Yeah and then it works once or twice and then it stops working again.

It's pretty clearly not a realistic workaround to restart DCS whenever it stops working. There's no point in running sorties when it is completely unreliable.

Not sure if this might be related: Earlier I selected aim9 and switched back to a2g + GBU 12 selected. When I went to roll in on a lazed target (JTAC&CCIP), instead of dropping GBU12, one Aim9 fired.

Steps to replicate:

1. Select either Aim9 via either Boresight/SEAM.

2. Switch to A2G mode.

3. Fire - Aim9 launches.

If you unselect GBU12 on stores page and reselect it, GBU12 will drop.
