MiG-21 too loud!

All the other DCS modules are mixed to a similar level but the MiG is much, much louder. It's a lovely noise but it gets annoying to have to reach for the volume every time I fly her.

 

Does anyone know which samples the MiG is using for the engine/afterburner? I'm a dab hand with Cool Edit and I want to drop the levels a bit.

Do you have "hear like in helmet" checked? If not, do it. I think it's pretty OK, and I imagine the real MIG-21 was quite loud.

All that does is put a low-pass filter over everything. The MiG will still be too loud relative to every other aircraft.

And that's nothing in comparison of the Harrier, which is much louder :D

 

It's nice but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bit damaging to the hearing at length, the helmet option is safer (and enough for me).

 

A low-pass is what it is supposed to do. There is the in-cockpit sounds to lower that further, if necessary. But it won't work outside, perhaps an "engine sound" slider would make sense.
