Dave317 Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 I made a mission in the editor starting from the ramp with an AI wingman. We both taxi to the runway and I take off. My wingman lines up on the runway then takes off vertically and does not attempt to short take off. I tried it with him loaded up with fuel but then he just sits there. I assume he's too heavy to vertical take off.

Dave317 Posted December 4, 2017 Author Posted December 4, 2017 I expect they will but the problem is they don't try a rolling take off at all.
Belgeode Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) Something is definitely wrong, both on Normandy and on Nevada, I end up waiting about 10 minutes or so for AI wingmen to takeoff. Even if I call the tower and get clearance, then launch, they taxi into position and that is that for now. They just sit there on full throttle, with nozzles at the 0 position, with no attempt to roll. They then take off vertically from the runway, and slowly make their way to me, but only after I have left the area and either called for them to rejoin, or to cover me. Normandy is particularly bad because they taxi to runway, then crash into each other (usually #2 and #3) number four of course is stuck behind the wreckage and will never launch. If I set my flight to begin in the air, they are ok, but where is the fun in that. I love the start up and taxi. Edited December 12, 2017 by Belgeode [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] YouTube ~ Twitch
Emmy Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 AI won't do "Rolling Takeoffs" yet... Reduce their fuel load to 50% and they will takeoff vertically.
