Sli 1080 ti extreme question

Writing from mobile.

 

I have an aorus 1080 ti extreme watercooled.i would really prefer to buy an aircooled 1080 ti for sli(the watercooled one i have + another one aircooled ).

 

To make 2xcards sli work do the two cards have to be identical to the last detail?

 

Or can i buy a 1080 ti from assus and it will work with my aorus perfectly in sli ?

To SLI any graphics card, they must be the same make and model.

Example:

GTX 1080ti SC2

GTX 1080ti FTW3

Can't SLI

The issue is the clock speed is different right out of the box. The cooling system shouldn't make a lick of difference as long as all numerical specs and brand are identical.

Although, given the price of the 1080ti, my recommendation is buy the exact same one.

Since i saw peole complaining about performance i wanted a beast pc built by satan. :)) .

Hello All,

 

To really make SLI work in DCS 1.5 or 2.1, you need nVidia Profile Inspector.

 

The current profile for DCS.exe from nVidia is for DX9 and dated April 23, 2009 :megalol:

What has been your average FPS increase and from what cards?

I'm not sure I understand why you would want to go beyond a single 1080ti? I can max all settings and my 1080ti doesn't go past 50% usage...frames are quite good, frames are around 60 actually...even if DCS could utilize SLI, if a card isn't running near full usage, are you going to get more fps?

Must use nVidia Profile Inspector.

 

Comes with some drawbacks as ED has not fully implemented Multi-gpu

This is my experience with SLI after recent update

4k resolution all maximum graphic settings with deferred shading on / HDR off / MSAA 8X / V-sync on / Mirror on

Normandy extremely low altitude over a city (don't know its name I just picked the largest urban area in the map, so please excuse my ignorance)

7700K overclocked to 4.9 DDR4 32GB 3200Mhz

Single Titan XP

42~45 FPS

Titan XP Sli (Direct 10/11 SLI profile Dirt rally 3)

Managed to pull out stable 60 FPS

Never tested with V-sync off because I didn't have to. I got a similar result with NTTR map over Vegas. SLI does not make much difference in DCS 1.5 though.

No, all cards must have the same graphics core (GPU chips), amount of VRAM and bus width.

 

Dx12 use multi-GPU capabilities, matching AMD and NVIDIA together.
