TucksonSonny Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Cant make fun of them because Im a real bad driver as well :D As long as you have a positive kill ratio. You have to try some time a joy ride in Brussels or Paris. You would be lucky if you were hit by someone owning a driving license. :D About 45nm and quad-core wars: http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2087985,00.asp DELL Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 940 2,93 GHz @3 GHz, 8 MB cache | 8.192 MB 1.067 MHz Tri Channel DDR3 | 512 MB ATI® Radeon™ 4850 | 500 GB 7200 rpm Serial ATA | Samsung SM 2693 HM 25.5 " | HOTAS Cougar Thrustmaster |
Prophet Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Yeah the drivers in New Mexico are horrible too. Not 1 red light have I seen that someone doesnt go through. No one uses turn signals, and no one yields when merging. Oh and an FYI about AMD. Making the circuit smaller first starts with optics. If you cant print that small, nothing else matters. My company has for many years been the leader in optics, our competitor tends to have better mechanics. Well AMD has gotten by up to 90nm with our competitor. And AMD in the past has refused to work with us, being Japanese, and sometimes very difficult to work with. Well 6mo after purchasing some of our litho tools, they are now out with 65nm. All indicators suggest they will continue to buy our machines, putting them easily to 45nm. They arent as far behind in that that respect. The 1 problem I see with AMD, is they are making a similar mistake Intel made in the past. They are adding more cores, without really improving the core itself. Intel has a better core design from what we can all see. So unless AMD improves the core to compete with Intel, it wont matter how many cores they add.
Prophet Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 So I decided to help in the demise of AMD. Pulled the trigger on a E6400 and a MoBo/Ram to support it. Didnt get an SLI mobo, as I havent used it yet, and dont plan to really.
