F/A-18 3d model in obj format for skinning

Im working on a base set of layers to create RCAF skins and Inwould loike to test my skins in Blender. Is it possible to get a model for this purpose?

You can Open the Game Model in the Model Viewer:

 

/DCS World/bin/ModelViewer.exe

 

File, Open Model: DCS World/Bazar/World/Shapes/fa-18c.edm

 

The Only problem I foresee right now is the External Model for the New Hornet Model will not use the same templates as the current hornet model at all.

I thought it was the same one. I would like to work with Eagle Dynamic to work with me to get a license to use the copyrighted canadian sumbols so that I can have an open source/ shared project where people can contribute.

Which symbols/markings of the RCAF CF-188's are you talking about? Do you mean the F.I.P. era markings? Just curious...

The FIP signature for the Canadian forces and the Canada wordmark are under the Crown Copyright. The RCAF symbol (leaf in the circle) is under copyright for the national defense.

 

I would be more than happy to help ED apply for licenses for those so we can do those awesome cf18 paint job.

ED has no plans to do any RCAF Liveries, Any "User Mod" would not require a license to use said logos afaik.
