One has to be reminded that you are against an AI. One of which who is capable of making instantaneous corrections and keep flying. (And considering the horrendous flight models).

However, up against another player. You would be able to down them most of the time.

This one kept flying as if nothing happened:

I can accept it happening maybe once or twice, but I flew that mission several times, and it was happening on several individual Su-24's.

The track is unreliable I wish ED would let us upload larger files, with .acmi file types, I have the tacview of them, on one of them I was sat right behind one and I'd estimate about 80-90% hit rate with my full cannon load, and nothing.

Seems a bit odd, because in other aircraft this isn't happening.

It is, and as stated before it's a general problem with the AI in DCS, and also related to the AI's "difficulty" setting: the higher the AI difficulty, the higher the chance your own missiles will do silly things (fly off in an opposite direction etc), the more effective the AI's missiles are, and the more damage they can absorb: I have seen MiG-21s absorb a direct hit from both a 530D and Magic II, and not only did they keep flying as if nothing happened, they turned sharply in dogfights and kept firing their missiles.

The screenshots I linked above is from an AI Su-27 after my Mirage's cannons came over to say hello...

What I mean is if I edit the mission and have an F-15 flying from a land base with four AIM-9's, and just go to the Su-24's it's a different outcome, pretty much a guaranteed hit and kill, and the gun has no problem doing damage to them.

It seems like there is a damage issue with the Harrier.

Just had it happen again, the main issue is the cannon, there is no way that in hell that you should be putting hundreds of 25mm cannon shells into any airplane and it being flyable, even half a dozen 25mm HEI or AP should take down most planes.

Something is really wrong here.
