Your system already looks fine to me.

What sort of performance improvement are you expecting? When gamers say "performance" what they mean 99% of the time is "framerate", and going from a 4.6 GHz Core i5 to a 5+ GHz Core i7 isn't going to make any difference in DCS because the sim only uses 2 threads, and even the busiest missions don't load one core up to 100%.

16GB RAM is already good, and I'm pretty sure that faster memory has no effect on framerates at all, it just allows faster swapping of assets between video RAM and system RAM, which may reduce stuttering slightly (but won't eliminate it--that's up to the developer, it's not just a matter of throwing expensive hardware at the sim).

If you want better framerates in general, then get yourself a GTX 1080 Ti (not a regular 1080, the Ti version). Your system is fine, and a hefty new computer isn't going to make much of any improvement. The 1070 you have is great, but the 1080 Ti is that much better--and more expensive.

I purchased the 1070 around 6 to 7 months ago maybe I'll try to sell it and look at the 1080Ti. The last thing I added was 2 more ASUS PB277Q 2560 X 1440 monitors for a total of 3. I'm getting in the low 40's FPS over Vegas at low altitudes with the up grade I was hoping for around 60 FPS. I guess its back to the drawing board Thanks for the help.

i have a gtx 960 4GB and on Nevada down town i get 60fps 95% of the time, sometimes a drop to 55.

Think you need to adjust your settings and youll be fine

Do you have DCS installed on SSD? that also does alot

I can see the difference running at 4.7 and 5.2. Not neccessarily in fps figures 45 ( and 90) are what we look for in the rift. But smoothness is more pronounced if that makes sense.

Faster RAM does make a difference but when your pushing 5.2 Ghz on 6 cores it will be negligable

If you can afford it do it, bet your not dissapointed ;)

Ok got my EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FWT3 nice jump in performance. Over Vegas low altitude getting 50+ FPS with Deferred Shading ON, MSAA set to 2 and most setting set to high. Also running 3 Asus PB277Q 27 Inch 2560 X 1440 Monitors = 7680 X 1440. Picked up 10 to 15 FPS.

With X Plane 11 objects Settings set one to the left of Max @ 7680 X 1440 out of KROA 23 to 30 FPS. With one monitor and Objects at Max and 1 2560 X 1440 Monitor getting 55 to 60 FPS. About 10 FPS increase.

What I have noticed is pixel fill seems better and everything seems smoother.

PS Running Intel 4670K @ 4.6ghz and 16gb 1866 DDR3 Ram.
