papiuno Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Sorry if this question has already been answered. I have not found in this forum yet When I play DCS in VR, I like to record videos /FRAPS) on the monitor. Unfortunately, the display is in a vertical 9x16 window, instead of 16x9 . I think I know the reason, but how can I get a simple 16x9 display? In FS2, VR setting menu offers the possibility to display the native view Thanks for helping
Kelevra9987 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 If you are using the Rift, you can launch the Oculus Mirror found in the Installation Directory and capture that. Has a bit lower quality but at least it's 16:9 and at least worth 720p 1 Modules: Well... all of 'em ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VIII Hero | CPU: i7-6700K @ 4.6GHz | RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengance LPX DDR4 | GPU: GTX TITAN X (Maxwell) | SSD1: 256GB NVMe SSD System | SSD2: 250GB Games | HDD 4TB WD Red

papiuno Posted January 9, 2018 Author Posted January 9, 2018 In fact, what I said before was not completely true. I can record, but not always, not systematically. Sometimes, I do not understand why, the mirror 16/9 oculus windows kind of takes over, but the game freezes. I mean the game in its 9/16 window. So, I move the pointer back in the 9/16 oculus window, and the sim works again, but I cannot record what is displayed in the mirror window in this situation. So I put the pointer back in this mirror 16/9 window, but the game freezes again. I do that several times, and, suddenly, for a reason which I'm unable to identify, everything works. I am in the game, and in the mirror window. So I can fly and record. People behind my shoulders can watch what I see in my Oculus headset. I use FRAPS. I make something wrong, but what? Again thanks friends for helping me And thank you SkateZilla. Could you tell me step by step how to proceed to toggle the Mirror to 1080, and so on? I'm lost.
papiuno Posted January 9, 2018 Author Posted January 9, 2018 and how to have only the mirror window displayed while playing and recording...
Dingo_Bob Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 (edited) and how to have only the mirror window displayed while playing and recording... you can't turn off the DCS mirror, try Alt & Enter to expand it full screen an set FRAPS or OBS etc to record that alternately if using the Oculus Mirror tool as in that vid you linked then go to the shortcut icon right click it, select properties, on the target line after the .exe enter a space then add the following -height1079 -width1919, so will look like "bla:\bla\bla\oculusmirror.exe" -height1079 - width1919 this will expand the oculus mirror window to almost full screen or just use Skates Utility https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053 Edited January 9, 2018 by Dingo_Bob Post made redundant by Skate :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Modules are like Pokemon you gotta catch 'em all :joystick::lol::pilotfly: AMD Ryzen7 3700x, G-Skills 32Gb RAM @ 3200Mhz, MSI GTX1080Ti, TM Warthog (20cm extension by Sahaj), MFG Crosswind Pedals, Oculus Rift, Track Ir5
