I've been to his website and can't find an email or contact me details, so I'm posting here in case someone can please help.

 

So I've just done a fresh Windows 10, DCS, Helios install to try and fix some laggy issues.

 

I've now run into a problem I can't find a solution for:

 

When I install CaptZeen's 'default.lua' in the keyboard input section of DCS, I lose the ability to use my physical keyboard. I can't even press escape to quit or bring up the quit menu.

 

Can someone please tell me what I've done wrong?

 

Also I've noticed that one of his gauges (oil press I think) is wrongly rotated... has anyone else spotted this?

 

Any help would be really appreciated, because now I can't use my DCS sim at all...

Well I'm proud of myself; I've fixed it and I don't even understand LUA.

 

So for others, the problem is that the new 'default.lua' has an encapsulation that means it's 'added' to an existing lua keyboard binding script called:

 

common_chat_keyboard_binding.lua

 

My problem, was that this file didn't exist.

 

I've repaired my DCS 1.5 build THREE FREAKIN' TIMES, and this file never magically appeared.

 

So I have no idea what 'creates' it, but nothing in standard DCS seemed to do that.

 

So thanks to a post found on these forums, where someone had thankfully posted the contents of said missing file, I created it, pasted in the contents and tried again and lo' and behold, everything works.

 

So I hope this helps someone else.

 

As for the gauge that rotated incorrectly, I've rotated it in the Helios Editor, making sure to rotate the needle too, and it's now correctly orientated.

 

If someone knows how to contact CaptZeen, please let me know as I need to tell him about this gauge.

The gauges are rotated so that the clockface orientation of the normal operating range of each gauge coincide. This allows the pilot to assess with a quick glance.

Another bug: the AC Phase rotary button doesn't work. It selects AB and the other ones, but when I turn it to AC Phase for startup the one in the 3d cockpit doesn't turn. I have to use the mouse...

Hmmm, funny 'cause I noted the updated one, oh well, I guess I didn't download the one I thought I did. Brilliant, thanks very much, I'll try that in a minute.

 

One stupid question, does the binding change anything to do with my flight controls setup/bindings? i.e. all my sticks, buttons and pedals? So will copying this new file over ruin those?
