getting planes to fly a race track route

Was wondering when setting up a mission for training, like air to air and shooting down an aircraft. How do you get the target aircraft to fly a race track route so you can use them as targets, I haven't been able to figure that out, in the mission editor. trying to set up missions in M2000c since there are very few, even in the campaign.

Your two waypoints have to be a certain distance apart (50 miles?) in order to have Race Track as a drop down option. Also, you choose that option on the first of the two points and not the second.
