FOXFIRE TWOONE Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I have DCS ( alpha and beta ) on C-drive. I copy pasted both to my B-drive where they will reside now, no operating system their. Made new shortcuts and launched both from their new home, and all is well. Can I delete the folders on C-drive now, leaving saved games folder on C, and be ok for the update. :helpsmilie: Thanks Intel core I9 10900K 3.7 ghz Asrock Z490 Extreme4 G-SKill Ripjaws V 32GB Cooler Master 120m GTX 980 Superclocked Corsair AX850w psu Samsung 1 T M.2 2 X 850 ssd's Sony 48 in HD TV Trackir 5 Hotas Warthog F/A-18C Hornet Grip Logitech Pro Peddles Windows 10 64

There’s a post somewhere here that deals with that (way back couple years) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
taxman1 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 What drive do you normally up date to? If the C drive that is where the 2.5 update will look first. From what you saying DCS is now on both C and B drives, you may need to direct the updater to your B drive. My advice is that until the update arrives keep both at this time, provided you have the space on each drive.

There’s a post somewhere here that deals with that (way back couple years) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk c0ff just posted the registry entries again today: Just in case, the updater seeks for the installed versions in the registry, the paths are expected to be in: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Eagle Dynamics\\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha" "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Eagle Dynamics\\DCS World OpenBeta" "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Eagle Dynamics\\DCS World" string value "Path". Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Worrazen Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 (edited) I have DCS ( alpha and beta ) on C-drive. I copy pasted both to my B-drive where they will reside now, no operating system their. But it's still not a good idea before 2.5 transition, the update process could get glitched somewhere. If you moved between disks it's better yes, but are you sure those "drives" aren't multiple partitions on the same disk, then the movement wouldn't help much. Now what is done is done, I suggest backup the profile in saved games, redo and completely uninstall, and reinstall new 2.5 on the B drive, or, skip uninstall, and install new 2.5 hoping it would use some assets to speed up 2.5 install, then delete the old one. Balzarog Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 I believe I read in one of the threads that if you move your DCS installs to another directory, all you need to do is run the DCS command line -repair with your updater.exe and that will automatically update your registry.
