Joni Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 How do I do to make 2 AI Viggens to fire all their missiles to a specific ship? They always fire 1 and wait until it hits before firing the next one. Thanks. Grimes Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 With the default tasks the AI tend to only use enough weapons to destroy a target. So it is a combination of the targets HP and how much damage the weapon can do. You can override it with Attack unit and engage unit tasking as those have options that allow you to specify how many shots the flight will take. Specifically you have to specify a weapon type and select quantity. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Guest Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Thanks Grimes!! Somehow I only saw the attack group option but not the attack unit. Thanks thanks!
Guest Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Any tip on how to make restrict jettison to work?
Grimes Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Set options and commands on their waypoint tasks on the first waypoint before any other tasks. Emmy Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 If you leave the weapon choice set to "AUTO", AI will usually only fire one missile or drop one bomb. Choose the actual weapon you want employed and then below that choose "ALL" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php High Quality Aviation Photography For Personal Enjoyment And Editorial Use. www.crosswindimages.com
reilar Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 (edited) I can't get this to work with the Viggen. I set up a single AI Viggen with 2 RB04E (the AI variant). Then I remove the default Anit-Ship task. 40 km from target (a Grisha) I have a waypoint (WP1) with: Perform Task / Attack Unit UNIT: "the Grisha" WEAPON: --Antiship missiles (or ASM) REL QTY: All I also set the next waypoint (WP2) 20 km closer to the target so the Viggen will head against it. When the Viggen reaches WP2 no missiles have been shot and the Viggen heads for the next waypoint.AJS37 Anti-Ship.miz Edited January 27, 2018 by reilar Adding mission file
Emmy Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Maybe try making the Grisha its own "Group" and "Attack Group" ? Does it work 1 on 1 with one jet and one Grisha as a group? reilar Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Still doesn't work for me. I've tried to remove and add the Viggen unit. I've also tried with different targets types (Grisha, Tanker, Civil ship). No joy. I have left the Anti-ship default task. I've tried to set Perform Task / Attack Group or Attack Unit. Also tried the different tasks in "Start Enroute Task". Nothing works when using RB04E. I've managed to get it to work with RB75 though. I suspect that it is the RB04E (the AI version) that doesn't work with AI Viggens. Have you got it to work with RB04E? You think you can attach a simple mission for either Caucasus or Normandy where it actually works for you.
reilar Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Thanks Piston85! It worked for me as well when using your mission. I could even add more Viggens loaded with either RB15 or RB04 and the missiles were fired away as they were supposed to. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out why it works in your mission but not in my own. I will investigate more tomorrow. Anyway, thanks for your effort.
reilar Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 The problem I had seemed to be related to moving ship targets and also if I air-started the AI Viggen too close to the IP. I've filed a bug report on this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200624
