  1. Does anyone know how the Fixed-Point option works for the Harpoon missile? I've read in the manual about it but can't figure out how it works. Is it a way of telling the missile where the target is located, i.e. in the middle of start of search and self destruction? How is this then different from launching the missile without using the Fixed-Point option?

  3. I got this ghosting/jittering a few days ago with my Rift. It had worked for several weeks before that without any issues. Then for no apparent reason it started to jitter. Not all the time but now and then. I tried repairing my DCS installation. After that the problem went away (for now at least).
  4. At least in my installation you put your tracks (.ogg files) in (DCS installation directory)\Mods\aircraft\F14\Sounds\Walkman
  5. As annoying as it is, I guess this is the nature of early access and work in progress (= everything is subject to change). The alternative would be something like no early access or no training missions before release. I think I live with it and coupe with the changes.
  6. That's very good to hear, Miles. Fantastic progress! I really don't want to miss out on this one. Will you please make sure I get on the list you mentioned a few posts back.
  7. Hi! Discovered this thread a couple days ago and immediately found it very interesting. If I remember correctly I think I saw an estimated price tag for approximately $175. Is that correct? Does that include the camera unit and TWO FCUs?
  8. Tanks for the link. Very interesting to read. Didn't know there were four Viggens involved. The two JAs that arrived first beside the Blackbird was new to me. Regarding the second pair, what I've been told, they were actually AJs (not JAs as is mentioned in the article). I'm pretty sure this is correct because one of the pilots I can identify as an AJ driver by name. Maybe someone will be interested making a DCS scenario out of it:)
  9. Also hoping Bunyap will be back with his great videos. I'm missing them. Hornet will indeed be a good subject for Bunyap to touch on.
  10. No, you don't. I'm seeing the same thing. But it doesn't happen all the time though. Haven't had the time to figure out when it's actually happens. Could it depend on wind strength or carrier speed or a combination of them. Don't know.
  11. One of my screws sat particularly tight. I ended up using one of these to remove it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/5Pcs-Screw-Extractor-Set-Drill-Bits-Broken-Damaged-Bolt-Remover-Accessories-Kit/272437202884?hash=item3f6e85cfc4:g:sNsAAOSw5cNYG8ZQ Luckily two extra screws were provided with the stick.
  12. Viggen can get a little unstable during roll out after touch down when using thrust reverser. To mitigate, pull stick back proportionally to how much trust you apply. With full thrust reverser during roll out, apply full back pressure on the stick.
  13. Yes, testing this right now. QFE setting doesn't seem to have any impact on how accurate you hit. Only dive angle has. And the sweet spot dive angle seems to be closer to 15-16 deg rather than 20 (which I stated before). The same behavior can be noticed with AKAN.
  14. I've tested a little bit more with rockets using ANF mode. The pitch angle when you're firing your rockets seems to have quite a big impact on how good you hit your aiming point. The sweet spot seems to be around 18-20 deg. If you fire with that pitch you will hit dead on. Shallower pitch angles generate hits beyond the aiming point. Steeper dive angles generate hits in front of the aim point. Don't know if this is the expected behavior or if something is wrong the aim and range calculations.
  15. +1 I can only agree. It's the same for me. Now they are hitting long (i.e. behind the target point).
  16. I would be interested in this mod as well. Count me in.
  17. Cleaver! Thanks for the tips. Will probably try to do the same thing.
  18. It should be clear by examining the two attached mission files. They were made in 1.5.8 OB and if they are not compatible with the new 2.5 OB I will try to reproduce them there instead.
