ac5 Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Hello ED, how come that the runways in the Caucasus now switch on only after contacting the ATC? They used to be on all the time, as it is now in Nevada...... Devrim Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Plus, I mix runway lights and street lights from distance! :D I fly directly the lights, and then I realize they're pole lights on a long road. I find the airport, but it's almost in dark. :) Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
59th_Wittman Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 It's a multiplayer bug, runway lights works in single player, but very poor, than the city lights. I made some pictures from single player. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3375371&postcount=27 HDF 59th Virtual Airbase

I made some pictures from single player. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3375371&postcount=27 I was talking about sigle player... Yes they DO work, but only AFTER contacting the ATC. The lights used to be ALWAYS ON, as I wrote, and as they are in Nevada 2.5. discwalker Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 I read somwhere in the forum the wish to not always lit runways, in context of a target airfield should not help the attackers. And this is my opinion too. But airports night lighting is not enough good in current state. Taxiway lights are almost invisible from taxiway. Approach lights needed to every runway. And runway endings should be marked with bidirectional ending lights, GREEN+RED, builded into the surface possibly; at least in Nalchik, Beslan, Batumi, and Krymsk. Trucks with reflectors are not helping all the aligning process to the RWY10 at Beslan if I roll out to the turning pad, leave me in total darkness. Should be lit all turning pads at Beslan. ac5 Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 Worse still: If the ATC does not reply, even after several tries, (still not fixed, at least with some planes, like here the BF-109), the runway lights do not light up at all, they only light up after touchdown..... Vinny002 Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 Hi, guys! I think the runway lighting should be on at all of DCS Caucasus airports!!! Thanks! Cheers, Vincent
ac5 Posted February 3, 2019 Author Posted February 3, 2019 Hi, guys! I think the runway lighting should be on at all of DCS Caucasus airports!!! Thanks! Cheers, Vincent Indeed... They go on ONLY after contacting the ATC. This is not necessary in Nevada... Why ED? Zeagle Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 Real life airports that are in big cities always have their lights on. But smaller airports, even regional hubs in smaller cities, will turn off the runway lights after a certain time (9pm in many cases) or after the tower closes for the night. The pilot can turn on the lights by clicking his mic a certain number of times within a few seconds on a specific channel. I have done this myself for entertainment when flying cross country at night. There is nothing wrong with ED having the lights off for most airports at night.
discwalker Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 The problem is we are not able always to turn on lights when needed. Especially think to long MP missions and low light cloudy day or foggy day conditions. GTX 1070 8GB, 16GB DDR3, W8.1 on SSD, DCS on another SSD
