Greetings.

Wondering if anyone else is having this issue.

After around 30 min of flying time around FL230 my engine tends to flame out. This can happen after several successful flights and refueling.

Caucuses Winter

every time around 7K FOB

>FL200

around 800 Rpm

Unable to restart engine. every time

Can start APU in flight however still unable to restart and Air restart procedure unsuccessful. This just started happening after this hotfix 2.14.2018.

Anyone else experiencing engine failures in the 20's ? Possible inlet ice ?

Thanks

Yes aware of that thread thanks tex, and the changes. Limitations never exceeded so really no damage was sustained. Basically you have limited flight of 1.5 sorties in the harrier without simulated catastrophic engine failure. Preventative repair after landing does not address this either. Apparently a bug.'

-edited- possibly FM is corrected now to repair with suspected engine damage from Limitation exceeded however this still does not effect my issue since I monitored engine parameters. I will However I will test. Unsure of still since no official change log from last update. Thanks tex

Have had flameouts after inverted and outside loops coming off target understandably (why inverted and outside loops? Because I can and it is fun for a hot dog) and yes most likely exceeding max continuous thrust...and could not air start...but never had it happen in level flight at any altitude...yet!

Dang loving the Harrier...what a fun Jet!

Engine Flamout in Cruise

That happened to me too. I was curious and held the jet in continuous inverted level flight. About 10 seconds in the engine flamed out. I then quickly discovered there isn’t a backup hydraulic pump and broke the canopy.

Later, I discovered there’s something called a limitation and evidently the Harrier wasn’t designed to fly inverted.
