Headwarp Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 (edited) Trying to come to grips with SRS Radio and am stumped on What to do for controls between various aircraft. IN FC3 aircraft I feel like I can easily give up a hatswitch for Radio 1, 2, 3 and Common PTT. However - when it comes to full fidelity pits, that same hatswitch could be any number of things as I tend to bind my hotas to be as close to the stick and throttle in the aircraft as possible. I.E. the hatswitch I'd use for FC3 aircraft is my countermeasures switch in say the Harrier, which also happens to be the comms switch in the A-10C. I've spent the last 30 minutes googling for answers, and was wondering if anybody who's already sorted this out could chime in and help clear up my confusion. Does SRS behave differently for clickpits? Or is there something I can do to get around this without rebinding keys every time I want to switch aircraft? Is this something people just get around with the use of a modifier? Did I just answer my own question by thinking just adding the same modifier to my clickpit controls and also making that a modifier for srs hotkeys may be the only solution? "Why are you popping flares?!?" asks Colt 1-2 "Just meant to say hi" says Colt 1-1. Sorry if this belongs in the mods and apps subforum, but I figure anybody using SRS is using it for multiplayer. dedde01 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Well, SRS key bindings are not linked in any way to the bindings you have in the game. So if you don't want to change every time the SRS's bindings when you switch airframes, I think the only thing you can do is to reserve a button/hatswitch to SRS and not bind it to any function in any module. 1 SILVER 11 | Dedde DCS MODULES: A-10C; F-15C ; M2000C; AV-8B N/A; F/A-18C; SA342; CA. Thanks. I could work around this with one of the many peripherals at my disposal I suppose including just adding a common modifier to all aircraft. I guess I'll just have to start using it and further my understanding of everything SRS is capable of. Some of the conversations I've had with some wingmates may have put ideas into my head that may or may not be correct. :) Spoiler Win 11 Pro, z790 i9 13900k, RTX 4090 , 64GB DDR 6400GB, OS and DCS are on separate pci-e 4.0 drives Sim hardware - VKB MCG Ultimate with 200mm extension, Virpil T-50CM3 Dual throttles. Frederf Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 SRS, with some cockpits, can recognize when radio cockpit control is pressed without any key bindings made for SRS client. It is looking for an exportable event from the sim as a basis of when to transmit. Some cockpits have this ability while others do not. It is required that the talk button itself be clickable to export the event. 1
