haze Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my 9800 pro and want to stick with an ATI card for Lockon. The 1950 looks to be a good card but can someone tell me the difference between the radeon x1950 xtx and the radeon x1950 crossfire? They seem almost identical. Thanks!
suntrace1 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I guess you have an AGP port on your motherboard - if so, you are pretty much limited to X1950PRO AGP card.
haze Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 I'm upgrading everything and have selected all other components except the video card....... the new mboard has a pci exp slot, should have included that info, sorry.
Ramstein Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 I just installed one of these: http://www.hisdigital.com/html/product_ov.php?id=278&view=yes it's the readeon 1950 Pro 512MB AGP Turbo version. I bought it on Newegg.com about $300.00 after shipping and taxes. But had a rebate. you can get one like it for $209.00 after rebate, but without turbo and a different fan/cooler. If you get the PCI version it's much cheapper, but I stuck with AGP for now. :pilotfly: ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
Pilotasso Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 X9150XTX should work fine, unless you'd like to wait for a DX10 compatible card, and last time I checked they were backed up another month before release. Should be in April some time. Its now May. .
