MP issue

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

Well I have a weird one...

First of all my specs:

CPU: i7-7700HQ @ 2.8GHz

RAM: 32 GB

SSD is NVME capable of 2100MB/s writes and 2500 reads at least

GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 4GB vRAM

I created a video here: https://youtu.be/gTUxmIPG1Po

So I fire up DCS 2.5 latest available version, go to single player all fine and dandy.

When I go to MP any server I have to wait for at least 2 minutes before things start to work OK. See video it`s quite OK explaining things :)

So where is my problem and how would one resolve it?

Is it a bug?

I tried repairing and no avail, still the same...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

P.S.

Hi gregecslo

This looks like the memory problem ED are working to fix in the open beta, and why it has not been pushed to release yet.

If you can attach your dcs.log to this post the team will take a look at it to check. ( guide in my signature )

We are waiting for news on a fix, when we have some we will pass it on.

thanks

Hi!

I did attach log file.

Here it is again :)

BTW, don`t mind about shader recompilation, I deleted fxo and metashaders folders it did not have any impact on game loading (well it had but I ran the game twice so shaders were recompilated second time) :)

It's the way it is for now in MP.

Nothing wrong on your end.

Tho, check my comment on YT regarding TaskManager and CPU usage.

+1

When entering MP with lots of units(like the 104th), U will have to wait for a very long time(2 mins plus even with SSD after reaching the A/C section UI) before U can do anything smoothly.

  • 5 months later...

I have the same issue too, and probably more serious.

First of all my specs:

CPU: i5-8600K @ 3.6GHz

RAM: 16 GB DDR4 3000MHz

SSD: SanDisk

GPU: GeForce GTX 1080ti 11GB

When I go to the MP server 104th, I have to wait for at least 6 minutes before framerate go to stable, including about 2 minutes to enter player list, and 4 minutes to wait frame smooth(framerate is 0~20).

Is that my problem and how to resolve it?

You need lots of RAM and PageFile to be kind of speedy in MP.

16GB will set you back, so will a too small PageFile on a HDD.

Increase your RAM to 32GB if you afford it and for sure make the PageFile LARGER, like 32GB. If you can, put it on a SSD ( NOT the one DCS uses, rather take OS SSD or get another one ).

It takes me about 2min maximum to enter any server with my rig until the fps stabilizes at 75-100fps ( depends on srv )
