Nealius Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 With the Spitfire's replay tracks being totally broken, I've been recording MP sessions over my LAN to get video recordings. On my client computer I have Jaffa's Spit sound mod installed. On my server computer I do not have that sound mod installed. I noticed that when I move the server track file to my client computer, and replay it on my client computer, some of the signature sounds--like the exhaust popping when reducing throttle--don't seem to play. Would sound mods installed on the server computer be recorded on the track, and thus replayed on a client computer even without that sound mod installed?
Insonia Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 (edited) mods are only working on native console. Server only recieve the netcode from client. Edited April 28, 2018 by Insonia
Nealius Posted April 28, 2018 Author Posted April 28, 2018 That's odd, because the sound mod on my client computer does not work when I replay the server track. If I replay the client track of the exact same flight, the sound mod does work. I noticed the same holds true for Terrain Restriction = false. If the server computer has terrain restriction enabled, but the client computer has it disabled, the server track replayed on the client computer will retain the server's setting.
Insonia Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Did the sound mods contain script? How you install the mod? You replace the original file or put in to saved game folder
Insonia Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 If the mod reroute the sound file path. That means the trk file reocrd with mods param as well. Odd for sure.Intreseting.
Nealius Posted April 28, 2018 Author Posted April 28, 2018 Not sure if there is a script, but the mod folder is in my Saved Games, and applied via JSGME on the client computer.
Nealius Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 Confirmed so far. I have the sound mod installed on both client and server PC, yet replaying the server track gives default sounds. JSGME installs the sound files to the Saved Games path. I even tried installing the sounds directly to the DCS sounds path on the client computer, and the server track still replayed with default sounds. It seems that the default sounds are baked into server track files. I need to test if it will work with the sound mod installed in the server's DCS sounds path. scKz38SSlSA
