BlacleyCole Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Weather my VoiceAttack project works or Not I’m thinking of building a button box with puSH buttons, toggle switches and several rotary encoders. I dot expect a problem in. The construction of the box. But interfacing and configuring it in dcs my be different. If it show up as an controller I don’t expect trouble configuring was since it should be the same as any other controller. I’m going to use the bodnar board for interfacing do these boards play well. Will I need dcs bios? Years ago before becoming fed up with Fox I ordereded enough stuff to several panels. Then recently I ordered a box and a few things to build a button box. So I’m going to do one done the line once other things are working and I fly enough to see. What actually Ned’s assigning to a button. I started off trying to follow the original huey cyclic’s b4 Brie except the hat button but already I notice I need ways to direct the ai aircrew in flight , troops while under the hmd plus other things that I’m not having a button for currently, some seem logical to use VoiceAttack for since they would be normally voice command anyway. Should I expect any problems workarounds etc with a simple bodnar board button box? If so what? Tia BlackeyCole 20years usaf XP-11. cichlidfan Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 DCS Bios is not needed if you use a Bodnar board. It will look like a generic USB device to the sim and can be programmed just like any other joystick type device from within DCS. Warhog Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Here is the layman's guide to DCS-BIOS. http://dcs-bios.a10c.de/docs/v0.7.0/userguide.html A quick read through this document should answer most of you questions about DCS-BIOS. DCS-BIOS makes cockpit building soooooo! much easier. Regards John W aka WarHog. My Cockpit Build Pictures... Sokol1_br Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 (edited) Basic difference: An USB controller - e.g. BU0836, DSD12, Arduino+MMJoy2, Arduino+sketch code... - create a generic Game Controller compatible with any flight game. Arduino+DCS BIOS - create a I/O controller compatible with DCS. Edited April 29, 2018 by Sokol1_br
