Hotas disabled by Steam? Help!

Hi,

For no apparent reason DCS world stopped seeing my Hotas. Been flying with it for more than a year with no issues.

I use the Steam version.

Tried another game (Elite) and the same. When I ran Elite as a standlaone the Hotas worked.

It shows in Windows but now cant be seen by any Sim or game when Steam is running.

Can't use DCS as standlaone due to DLC restrictions, anyone have a solution?

[EDIT:SOLVED. Itried NahkaSukka's solution with no luck. I removed and reinstalled Steam using a fix to prevent losing game files and all is now fine.]

I had the same issue when i had the generic gamepad configuration support enabled at settings --> controller --> general controller settings

Agree. While it is obviously a personal preference, it is things like this being the reason I just do not care for Steam at all.

Not the first time I have seen this type of post on various forums.
