Yes, those Su-27s from the Sukhoi promo videos are very early production versions that certainly predate any export efforts - they do seem to be carrying ECM pods below the wing, but if that's indeed what they are, Sorbitsiyas are most likely.

One interesting thing about the ECM pods on Chinese Flankers is that left and right pods are NOT identical.

The pods dielectric radomes are different, noticed this on Su-33 & Su-30MK too.

That is an interesting article that Force Feedback found. The part that caught my eye was

Burden of readiness, min 3-4

Time of continuous operation, h; up to 6

I'd guess that burden of readiness means it takes 3-4 mins to warm up when you switch it on before it will operate. I would argue that such a system would not respond well to being rapidly switched on and off (which those pesky ECM blinkers on-line are doing). Just my two cents....

it's designed to link multiple jammers, now THAT is what we certianly will never get in 'lomac 2' :P

Linking multiple jammers that is even more interesting!

That means that multiple jammers have indeed an advantage.

Thus with a 4 ship versus 1 ship you will burn the other ECM out of the air!

I do like that!

How about flankers loaded all over with Sorbstiya ECM pods? ;)

HOTAS programming IS lame, in a real car/aircraft you can't flip 3 switches with 2 hands in 0.002 seconds either...

I know, therefor it should be disabled and built in some more realistic jammer modes....not that you can do things like that.....because it is unrealistic and you will need a real fast finger:lol:

The operation time is limited by the amount of coolant (distilled water) used in each pod.

Ok, I uploaded the two electronics manuals, the ECM system is discussed from 'RTE_SU27SK_kn6_ch8_173_00__001.tif.jpg' to 'RTE_SU27SK_kn6_ch8_173_01__031.tif.jpg' it features a pic of the pod, the cooling element and the panel on the right side just below the RWR panel, aka the ECM control panel :P
