CPU utilization Full Screen vs Windowed

Anyone else notice that when in Full Screen mode, CPU load is about 10-15% higher on the primary core than when in Borderless Windowed mode?.. Display is the same.. just uses more CPU for some reason... also noticed that the CPU seems to be working harder in the Menu Screen when in Full Screen, but not at all when in Windowed mode.. ????

Welp... i'm sticking with windowed mode then... its still full size... looks exactly the same.. just uses less CPU for whatever reason..

I not only noticed that but I observed that my trackIR is smoother when I'm in windowed borderless. No idea why

@lefty1117 did you also notice it using CPU in the Main Menu Screen for no apparent reason when in Full Screen mode?

Is this Windows 7, or 10, and if 7 is that with Aero enabled?

Win 10 Pro... Aero is enabled.

Full screen for me. It's the only way to take advantage of nvidia control panel options like fast or adaptive vsync.

serious question.. do you find it advantageous to sync more than 60fps?.. if so, why? or what is the effect?

I don't spend much time over 60fps .

 

I find vsync beneficial at all frame rates with fast being my preference. I also sometimes use nvidia adaptive vsync at half refresh rate as a 30fps frame cap.

 

In general I prefer the flexibility and performance of nvidia vsync options which are only available in full screen mode.

 

Note I am often having to force dcs into full screen using alt enter.

got it... is it only the Nvidia vsync's that dont work?.. cause all my nv control panel settings work in windowed mode.. haven't messed with the nvidia sync options though.. they are there, i just use the in game vsync..
