DPS Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Do you ever suffer from the wind? I know I do. Today, I cranked up the crosswind component to 85 ft/sec (that’s about 60 mph) and that was about my limit – and it wasn’t pretty either. AI aircraft gave up/chickened out much earlier. Here’s the results: Or perhaps it’s time to buy a pair of rudder pedals. Anybody recommend a decent pair? DPS.
S77th-konkussion Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 CH Pros! No complaints other than they could stand to be a little further apart. The Saiteks are width adjustable but look pretty flimsy. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
S77th-konkussion Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I HAD to get pedals to fly the 25T. I literally could not get off the ground 1/2 the time when I used that terrible rocker switch on my X45. You need precise control or you will careen off the runway with any imperfect conditions imposed. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
ericinexile Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I never suffer from the wind... ...But I often suffer from the WINDS! It really depends on what I had for dinner. If it gets bad enough my wife makes me sleep in the other room. What a patient, loving girl! Now...back to flying.... G3 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 arhh, toilet humour :) DPS: the tower was "flap lid", is that a person or program or what. those cross winds look pretty hard to land in and the stationary aircraft getting airtime was pretty amazing, good one.
Kuky Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 That was funny ... and yeah, I get quite a bit of wind on occasions :D PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
vadIL Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 watch this, If we talking about wind :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRF5o0d_LJU
DPS Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Good find, vadIL. That's one way to arrive home when your base is covered in craters. I tried to set the wind so that some of the Lock On models would get blown away whilst parked, but no luck. I had the FS9 settings up to 140 knots and I could still have set them higher. ggg87, Flap Lid is a person. It's her voice on the Air-to-Air Refuelling tutorial at the same YouTube area.
169th_Bat Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I'm famous for it mate. Wakes the wife up. "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few". - Sir Winston Churchill 1940.
